Yes it is that time of year again with a chance to explore some fabulous events in the Grantham area. Check out below to see all the festive offerings:
Belvoir Castle – Check out this fabulous venue for their 12 days of Christmas experience curated by Charlotte Lloyd-Webber who did such a magical job in last years Cinderella event. This promises to be a fabulous spectacle. In addition, you can do some Christmas shopping at the Engine Yard, meet Santa and enjoy a festive Afternoon tea.
Belton House – the picture had me sold but apart from this amazing display they have great independent street food on offer, the fabulous grounds and light trail to enjoy a romantic walk, plus the usual Christmas fayre you expect from this prestigious event.
Burghley Christmas Fair – always a fabulous venue to visit any time of year but especially so at Christmas with over 150 stalls offering luxury gifts and artisan foods. Book early as it a relatively short lived event from the 23rd to 26th November however it is on longer than last year reflecting how successful it has been.
Boundary Mills and Downtown – a very popular destination just outside Grantham with shoppers turning up by the bus load to snap up a bargain. If you fancy doing your shopping in one hit, then this is the perfect place to get great value for your hard-earned cash.
Also check out the children’s Xmas Party on the 14th December, loads of festive fun and frolics for 7 to 11 year olds. Hosted at the Downtown Garden Centre.
Winter Wonderland – this fantastic event returns to Nottingham with ice skating on offer, the famous ice bar, the Sky Skate Ice path and a magnificent selection of seasonal stalls offering food from all over the world, festive gifts and the fabulous Ferris wheel if heights are your thing. Running from the 7th November to the 31st December it a must see.
Harlaxton Manor – this imposing building is hosting a series of Christmas Open House days from the 1st December, Santa is flying in with his helpers and there is plenty of seasonal treats on offer as well as a chance to explore this magnificent building.
Grantham Steampunk Society – are hosting their first ever Christmas event in the Market Place with lots of festive fun including Umbrella Duelling (!), carol singing, a torch light procession and many fabulously colourful costumes to admire.
Come and enjoy the entertainment on Saturday 16th December.
Easton Walled Gardens – Open Wednesdays to Sundays from 11am to 4pm this is well worth a visit. The gardens are still fabulous but there is plenty to see and do this time of year. Even pan your garden for next summer!
